Between 25 February and 2 March, the start of the 2026 academic year was celebrated in the district of Chibuto, Gaza Province, Mozambique. Created under the project “Educators in Motion – An Itinerant Education for Early Childhood”, which is currently in its second phase of implementation and supported by ACDI, the six Community Schools received 178 enrolments of boys and girls aged between 3 and 5 years old: 9 children in Chaimite, 32 in Chiconelane, 42 in Malehice, 21 in Maivene, 50 in Bairro 25 de Junho U2, and 54 in Bairro 25 de Junho U4. Prior to the start of activities, extensive preparatory work was carried out by the
Animators / “Educators in Motion”, in collaboration with the ACDI team from the Chibuto Delegation. Planning sessions for playful-pedagogical activities were also held, with the aim of better preparing and consolidating the children’s learning. At the same time, cleaning and organization of the school premises — both indoor and outdoor — were conducted.
To support the continuation of the work developed in the Community Schools, ACDI requires financial contributions to ensure the purchase of food supplies locally in Chibuto and to prepare and serve a daily meal to all the children attending the schools.
Donations can be made via MBWAY, using “Ser Solidário” or the number +351 932 469 205.
