The 4-hour training session was held under the project “Ecoality: Young People and Local Authorities Together for Climate and Gender Justice” and aimed to transform classrooms into spaces of active citizenship and response to ecological crises. The
training was certified by the Loures Oriental Training Centre. Aligned with the National Strategy for Citizenship Education, the training sessions sought to equip teachers and youth educators with the skills to implement participatory and transformative Non-Formal Education activities in school and associative contexts. The goal is to promote Global Citizenship Education and the
active engagement of young people in topics such as Climate Justice, Gender Equity and Human Rights. In the context of the climate emergency and the growing importance of Gender Equity,
this was an opportunity for teachers to update their knowledge and become agents of change within school communities. The impact of these themes extends far beyond the classroom, influencing society as a whole, both now and in the future.
The European project “Ecoality”, which aims to promote Climate Justice and Gender Equity between Women and Men, is implemented by ACDI and the Municipality of Loures in Portugal, and is co-financed by the European Commission and Camões –
Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua.
