Mission
The Alliance for Cooperation and International Development – ACDI is a civil society organization committed to promoting sustainable, inclusive and equitable development. We work in international cooperation, strengthening capacities and fostering global partnerships. We pay special attention to the regions of Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and greater solidarity among peoples.

Our Team
The Alliance for Cooperation and International Development – ACDI is a recognized Non-Governmental Development Organization (NGDO) for the work it carries out in Portugal and in other target countries. The awards and distinctions it has received are clear testimony to this achievement. They are the result of the daily efforts of a dedicated team that contributes to positive change through Education and Active Citizenship. These recognitions are important because they reinforce our belief that our work is worthwhile and that we are on the right path. However, the greatest reward is to see the work accomplished, the promises fulfilled and, above all, the recognition reflected in the eyes of those we serve.

European Green Award
In 2022, ACDI was awarded the European Green Award for its project “EcoPontes Lusófonas”, which promoted innovative circular economy and climate resilience solutions in vulnerable communities. The jury recognized the environmental impact, integrated approach and community involvement of the initiative, highlighting ACDI as a reference in the green transition through international cooperation.

European Social Innovation Competiti
In 2019, ACDI won the European Social Innovation Competition with the project “Juventude Conecta”, an innovative platform for digital empowerment and youth entrepreneurship. The project stood out for its creativity, scalability and inclusive social impact, demonstrating how social innovation can generate concrete opportunities in development contexts.desenvolvimento.

European Funds Award
In 2015, ACDI was distinguished in the European Funds Award in the category “Portugal + Social” for the project “Pontes para o Futuro”, funded by European funds. The initiative was recognized for its excellent impact on social inclusion, capacity building and territorial cohesion, exemplifying the effective use of European funds in sustainable development.
